I would recommend scrubbing the inside with a wire brush until absolutely every surface was shiny aluminum and then clean it and maybe use a food grade sealer to line it

It does show wear - especially on the corners

There are a few stains in the material and some of the trim embroidery is loose

I would not be afraid to load it up and take it in the field

It seems like this is a matched set but the leather on one is gray brown and the other is brown. One mitten is missing the cuff adjustment strap and buckle. The wool liner is a little loose. These might be a modified pair of motorcycle mittens. The liner and trim seem like they are field made.
