The tablets that this originally contained would have been dissolved in water then heated to sterilize it and injected as a local anesthetic

The black color inside the Iron Cross is a little worn. It is in good condition overall. A very fetching necklace. No markings. These necklaces are usually 835 silver, but this one has no markings, so I do not know the metal content. The top loop is slightly bent.
