BLUE ICE ROBIN The South Fork Kishwaukee River

The South Fork Kishwaukee River gradually makes its way through the prairie landscape with the reflections of a couple oak trees along with peachleaf willow trees

the vibrant colors and patterns appear as it moves across the lake enjoying its morning swim

I was looking for some good wildflower composition to photograph and came upon this patch of common milkweed close to the trail

I took a few moments to admire the beauty of winter and photograph the bridge with Eakin Creek West

a couple of oak trees

With the extreme cold temperatures of January and February, waterfalls form as the afternoon sun begins to melt the snowfall from the previous day only to have that snow and water freeze overnight as the temperatures drop to 9F to 0F creating impressive and colorful waterfalls at Starved Rock State Park.
