The gold work is astonishing, with applied foliate embellishments and intricately textured surfaces. The top is set with a vivid blood red garnet cabochon, and the button to release the lid is set with a matching, cylindrically cut garnet. A clever sprung plate housed in the lid replaces the need for a stopper, it's pushed upwards by the top of the bottle when the lid
