Songye Mask 02 Whilst used primarily as aSongye masks originate from the Congo and are hand carved from indigenous wood. The masks are traditionally worn by men during ceremonial dances. The masks are either masculine or feminine, identified by the crest in the centre of the mask. It is believed that the larger the crest the more magical powers the mask possesses. Stand is included. Please note stands may have minor imperfections.
