To create Dictionary, Anne Geene teamed up with fellow Dutch photographer Arjan de Nooy to combine a list of the 200 most commonly used English words with 200 random images from their archives. On each right hand page, a word is randomly paired with a photograph. The pages are then perforated between the picture and the word, giving the reader the ability to link every word with every
